About the Scholarship

The application for 2026/2027 will open on January 15th for the second phase of applicants.  Please click here you will find a link to the state website with information about steps for using the scholarship if it was awarded to you.

Westgate Christian School is an approved provider, which means scholarship recipients may use scholarship funds to pay for tuition at WCS.

The South Carolina Department of Education has launched a brand new scholarship program that allows parents to use scholarship funds to pay for independent school tuition for the 2026/2027 school year.

The scholarship will award:

• $7,634 per recipient
• 15,000 qualifying recipients statewide

Eligibility

For the 2026/2027 school year, students must:

• Be a resident of South Carolina; AND
•  Be a student entering grades K5 through 12th grade AND
• Cannot be zoned for their resident public school; AND
• Have a household income as follows:
  • School Year 2026-2027 – does not exceed 500% of the federal poverty income outlined here. ESTF website.

Westgate Christian School encourages all eligible families to apply for the scholarship. We are excited for the opportunity to offer a Christian education and loving environment regardless of income. Please keep in mind that scholarship recipients must still complete our admissions process for enrollment.
