Westgate Christian School has chapters of the National Beta Club and National Junior Beta Club. The Beta Club is a leadership and service organization for students who have shown outstanding academic performance and character. Through membership, students have an opportunity to practice school and community service and leadership roles.
To qualify for membership, students must have earned all A’s and B’s in every subject for at least one grading period, be recommended by their teachers and approved by the principal. In order for a student to continue in active membership, he or she must maintain a B average.
Westgate Christian School Beta Club members provide service to the school and community. School service projects have included free tutoring services, babysitting for evening programs, gifts of stoles and tassels for senior members at graduation, and a reception for graduates. Community services have included visits and gifts to nursing homes and gifts to The Downtown Rescue Mission.
The Junior Beta Club is for students in grades 5-8 and the Senior Beta Club is for students in grades 9-12.
New members are required to pay a membership fee to the National Beta Club. Membership benefits include a handsome certificate, a membership pin, a subscription to The Beta Club Journal, and access to the Beta Club website with many interesting and helpful links.
