Westgate Christian Home Education Association (WCHEA)

WCHEA is an association that meets the Option 3 standards for homeschooling in South Carolina. We offer membership only, which allows you to homeschool legally in state. We do not offer report cards or transcripts.

Cost

If you apply before July 31st of each year, the cost is $60 for the family. After July 31st, the cost is $75.

Application

To register with WCHEA:

1. Request a membership application by calling the school office at 864.576.4953. Office hours are 8:oo A.M. to 4:00 P.M. during the school year and 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. during the summer.

2. Return completed application and membership fee by mail or deliver them to our office at 1990 Old Reidville Road, Spartanburg, SC, 29301.

3. After you have officially registered with WCHEA our office staff will send out the following:

  • A member letter to use as verification of membership in good standing for the current academic year.
  • A Parent-Teacher Completion Statement, which must be completed and submitted to our office by July 31st of each year. These checklists serve as affidavits to verify you have met the requirements of S.C. Code §59-65-47 and WCHEA’s standards throughout the year as you educated your student. Membership depends on meeting and maintaining the state and WCHEA requirements and filing the completion statement with us. Other than the completion statement, we do not require any other documentation from you throughout the year.
