Evaluating Our World
High school students at Westgate Christian School are ready for academic challenges. While new information is critical to further academic growth, so is the expansion of critical thinking skills and thorough evaluation of information.
Our curriculum is designed to meet our students where they are and draw them to the next level of education. It’s not about “knowing” things but about processing, evaluating, and contributing. We don’t want to produce encyclopedias: we want to produce thinkers.
This is why our high school program is designed to develop high-level writing skills across disciplines. Whether they’re learning about the circulatory system in Anatomy and Physiology class or breaking down a complex calculus equation, we want them to be able to think through the issues and communicate their thoughts effectively. Essentially, writing is a thinking tool, and we want to equip our students well.
Our high school students have opportunities to enroll in honors courses and dual credit college courses to give them an edge in their freshman year of college.
Bible class in high school is an intensive study in key topics like Bible doctrines, biblical worldview, and evangelism. As students dive deeper into Biblical concepts, there is also a focus on practical application to enrich students’ daily lives.
